Honouring Women Entrepreneurs at the 14th Annual NewRoads Girls Night Out

On March 6, 2025, the NewRoads Performing Arts Centre set the stage for an unforgettable celebration of women, style, and community. The 14th Annual NewRoads Girls Night Out brought the charm of New York City’s Plaza Hotel to life, transforming the venue into a vibrant, elegant escape for International Women’s Day. Guests were greeted by doormen in classic top hats and white gloves before stepping into a dazzling Manhattan-inspired lobby. Inside, the evening unfolded with wine, themed appetizers by A Million Mouthfuls Catering, and photo backdrops that made every moment camera-worthy.

A standout feature of the night was the bustling marketplace, featuring more than 20 women-led businesses from around York Region. Local entrepreneurs showcased everything from handmade jewelry and home goods to boutique services and wellness products. It was an energetic mix of shopping, networking, and community pride, elevated by generous raffle prizes from local supporters that kept spirits high throughout the night.

The evening was hosted by Jennifer Ritter, President and CEO of the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, whose presence added warmth and authenticity to the event. Guests were also treated to a dynamic dance performance by Artistica Dance Studio and a powerful keynote from Jenn Walker, who spoke about self-worth, resilience, and celebrating womanhood.

Proceeds from the event supported Girls Inc., a leading organization that helps empower young women across North America to be strong, smart, and bold. Through mentorship and leadership programs, Girls Inc. continues to shape the next generation of confident, capable women.

As the night wound down, laughter filled the room, conversations lingered, and even the bar had to be restocked — a sure sign of a successful evening. A few men joined in too, adding to the sense of inclusivity and fun. Thanks to the enthusiasm of attendees and local partners, Girls Night Out remains a beloved tradition that uplifts women in business and celebrates the power of community connection.
